Rechargeable vs. Alkaline Battery Power

TotalFlare comes in two models: TFR Rechargeable or TFA Alkaline. The rechargeable model can be used for up to 20 hours before it needs to be docked for recharging. The Alkaline uses 5 "AA" batteries, and runs nearly 70 hours on the high "Fire Flicker" setting.

LED Smart Charger System

The state-of-the-art "Smart Charger" on our TFR Rechargeable model is contained in an impact-resistant form-fitted Smart Charger system, which can be trunk-mounted and hard-wired to the car battery. By using independent circuits for each TotalFlare unit, the Smart Charger identifies battery life and charges according to each unit's need, minimizing vehicle battery drain.

Programmable LED Flash Patterns

The TotalFlare unit contains a PIC (programmable integrated circuit) that allows for virtually any light pattern, including our proprietary "Fire Flicker" pattern that simulates the familiar incendiary road flares. Red LED is standard; amber, blue, green, white, and infrared LED's are also available by request. Whatever you plan to use our LED safety lighting for, we have a lighting pattern and color that will work for you.

LED Light Plug Technology

TotalFlare's light plug is the size of an actual incendiary road flare, raised for optimal viewing, and is impact resistant. The base uses Tread-lock technology to ensure traction if the LED unit is run over. This makes it virtually impossible for TotalFlare to become a projectile like its competitors. The pictures below show an 18-ton fire truck rolling over a TotalFlare LED safety light. No damage was done to the LED unit! If the TotalFlare unit is run over, the light plug is depressed into the unit for protection, and then pops back up again.

LED Light - Day and Night Time Visibility

LED flares by day Only TotalFlare provides true day and night time visibility. At night, the TotalFlare LED safety light can be seen for 2 miles horizontally and 10 miles from the air. With 48 LED's and enhanced daytime intensity, only TotalFlare is a proven daytime alternative to traditional road flares. Our optional "sunshields" (pictured at right) create even more day visibilty and feature a unique T-bar handle for ease of distribution and collection.
